Ah yes, the "Dog Days of Summer". We go out with the best plans ever (or no plans at all) to throw in a line and hope to come home with dinner, a story, or both. We invest time, money and countless hours of experience and research. We surf the web, talk to the lying dude at the bar who will give up his honey-hole for a beer. We buy NASA-quality fish-finders, fancy tackle and gallons of sunscreen.
We show up at our chosen spot, then proceed to troll about, because it's "search and destroy" right? Well, hopefully. Next on the list is what bait, what hook setup, what color jig, what depth, water temp, etc. It could drive a person crazy.
But so what? We're fishing. It ain't punching in and going to work where the nearest fishing spot is miles away. It may be Summer and the fish are all over the place. Every little bit counts and we drive ourselves crazy wondering where they are. And we love the insane challenge, brings out the carnal hunter in us. That silly saying "That's why they call it fishing, not catching" gets us out of a lot of jams. But seriously, it's all about what you get out of it. We're not talking bites and fish caught, but everything that goes into it and everything you bring home with you, fish or not.
We are "Gluttons for Punishment" in the finest way- we have expectations, we work hard and think hard at fishing. But in the end, no matter what we catch or how much, we go home and it was still a better day than being at work.
We at Rod-N-Bobb's salute you all, because we are YOU and we are here tearing our hair out on a daily basis trying to invent and provide the next best product to make your (and hey- our) fishing experience better.
